DeepaMehta

DeepaMehta is a software platform for knowledge workers. Knowledge workers handle information of various kinds and origins at a daily basis: Texts, images, documents, emails, links, appointments, contacts, etc. DeepaMehta combines information belonging to a working context in one single window and also displays their meaningful relationships. That window is used for editing and content distribution as well. We think the DeepaMehta user interface meets the requirements of a knowledge worker in a much more "natural" way than the traditional desktop interface with its encapsulated applications and file folder hierarchies.

DeepaMehta`s network-like graphical display exploits the cognitive advantages of Mind Maps and Concept Maps. Graphical maps -- in DeepaMehta called Topic Maps -- support the user`s Process of thinking, learning, remembering, and generating ideas. We think working with DeepaMehta stimulates creativity and increases productivity.

DeepaMehta can be used as a single user application or collaboratively with others. Topic Maps can be made accessible to the public.

DeepaMehta is an open source project. The software is licensed under GNU General Public License, version 3.

The name DeepaMehta is inspired by the Indian Movie Director Deepa Mehta.
