Description - Stunnix Perl Web Server

SPWS is an advanced implementation of modern web server in Perl, aimed at cross-platform use for browser-based applications running on the same machine as web server. The features of Stunnix Perl Web Server from the user point of view are following (in fact listed are the design and implementation goals, that were fully satisfied): -Run on any OS and platform (including Windows, MacOS X, Unix and Linux) where vanilla Perl of any version can be installed, and allowing browser-based applications to be run without installating them, from any location, even from CD-ROM; -Allow PHP-driven and MySQL-driven or SQLite-driven sites to run on any major platform (Windows, MacOS X and Linux) off CDROM without need to install MySQL server, PHP interpreter and Perl database drivers on user`s computer; -Allow copying entire CDROMs with PHP-driven and MySQL-driven or SQLite-driven sites on them to any directory on harddisk and running site with Stunnix Perl Web Server from that directory, thus allowing usual desktop applications to be created as browser-based applications; -Provide ability to pack entire site, webserver itself and Perl interpreter with all required core modules into single executable, that will start web server and open browser with site in it when run; -Provide ability to Create CDROMs that, so that once inserted into CD tray web server is run automatically and browser is opened with the site in the window (of course without requiring Perl interpreter to be present on the user`s computer); -Allow browser-based applications to feel like native applications on any platform in terms of responsibility and execution speed, hiding all Complex operational Details of SPWS from the user; -Support widely-spread standards supported by other modern web servers; -Be as close to Apache Web Server in most aspects as possible, to allow seamless porting of scripts and Server-Parsed documents Between two web servers;
