BSeditor: DVR: a Digital Video Recorder for Linux DVR is a small tool to record Movie clips. It relies on GStreamer as backend, and Qt for the user interface. DVR lets you record movies from a v4l interface, under Linux. It is based on avifile and can compress data in a variety of formats, such as Divx or Indeo.
