Description - Wizmage for Chrome
An image Blocker that will hide images in a way that minimizes the Impact on the user`s browsing experience.
Ever wanted to surf the web without seeing all the images, but found that disabling or blocking images using the browser settings made the internet completely unusable?
(Click the Details tab to view this text in an easier-to-read format.)
This extension provides a solution:
It hides the images by displaying a coloured texture where they would be. Small images, and many background patterns are recognized, and will always displayed.
Any individual image can be displayed simply by moving the mouse cursor over it and pressing ALT-a. (For multiple images, HOLD ALT-a down for a second and then swipe across the multiple images. Reportedly, this won`t work in Win 8.) To re-hide it, press ALT-z.
As much as possible, tooltips are given to hidden images, so you can tell what they`re about. The text of it is either taken from the `alt` text, or if there isn`t, from the image file name which is often descriptive.
There is an exception list (right click the icon and click Options). When navigating to a URL that contains the one of these exceptions, Wizmage will be disabled. For example, if you have `Google.com` as an exception, then the whole google.com domain will be excepted. If you have `blog` as an exception, then all URLs containing the word `blog` will be excepted. See the next section for a quick way of adding or removing a domain from the list.
