Description - Metascan Client

Metascan Client is a lightweight tool that enables multi-scanning of endpoints for viruses, key loggers and other malware. Available as either a cloud service or in conjunction with your local Metascan server, Metascan Client is ideal for quickly scanning endpoints prior to a network, web or server login or for regularly scheduled security checks.

Metascan Client quickly hashes files and/or the applications running on the endpoint and scans them using a remote Metascan server. Metascan Client does not replace an active antivirus application on the endpoint (it does not provide real time protection), but network security is enhanced by using Metascan`s multi-scanning technology to run regular scans or by ensuring that files and active processes are checked before admittance is granted through a SSL VPN or NAC Gateway.

Benefits

- No single antivirus product can Detect all threats -- Metascan Client adds an extra level of protection by scanning with multiple engines
- Able to perform an extremely fast Memory Check on endpoints accessing a network
- Able to perform a full scan of files and Folders on an endpoint
- Added security on any platform
- Scanning the complete file system prior to a logon using a pre-installed anti-malware solution is too slow
- Endpoints may not have an anti-malware solution installed

Features

- Lightweight and fast
- Compatible with network solutions from Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, F5 Networks and many others
- Available as an endpoint-only or as a client-server software package
- Endpoints can be scanned by your Metascan server(s) or through the Metascan cloud service
- Server-side logging to track scanning History
- Easy server-side signature updates using Internet-updating or manual updates (for locked environments)
- No conflicts with anti-malware products already installed on the endpoint being scanned or server performing the scan
