The Cookie Audit shows whether the website you visit complies with the European Privacy Legislation ("ePrivacy Legislation").
The Cookie Audit shows you in real time if the website you are visiting complies with the most stringent interpretation of the ePrivacy Legislation - Dutch Telecommunications Act (also the "Cookie Legislation"). The extension identifies all cookies placed by the website visited, and reports on whether consent was requested ("opt-in") by the website as required by the Dutch Legislation.
The Automatic Cookie Audit from Hottraffic offers the following insights:
• Does the site you visit request your opt-in, and thus complies to the Dutch telecom act?
• What sort and how many cookies are placed by the website you visit?
• Does the placement of these cookies require your consent, if not, why not?
• Does the website meet the "opt in" requirements?
In addition to these fundamental insights, the Cookie Audit also allows you to directly remove the cookies, thus guaranteeing you that, even if a website does not comply with the law, you can protect your own privacy.
