Many people would say that Nokia has become just a regular mobile phone producer, especially because it doesn’t have a powerful operating system and it still stays away from the almighty Android.
Still, Nokia’s mobile phones remain good-selling products, so it’s mandatory to offer customers applications to keep their devices updated and bug-free.
That’s also the purpose of Nokia Software Updater, a downloadable tool that can download and install update for most Nokia mobile phones out there.
Just like usual, the user has to Connect the device to the computer through an USB cable, so that the application could automatically identify the phone model and the installed firmware version. If everything goes all right, Nokia Software Updater checks both the firmware and the software installed on the phone for updates.
Fortunately for our testing, we had one pending software update, so the application automatically retrieved the package and installed it for us. Quick and easy, without involving the user into what sometimes could sound like a bit too complicated operation.
