Description - FroZenLight
The FroZenLight application interrelates line Arts, mathematics and Cryptography and is usable for math education. Circular shaped mirrors that are arranged in a grid like manner reflect a light ray according to the reflection law of geometric optics. While random positions of the light source produce chaotic reflection patterns.
Features
The release version 1.0 comes with the following features:
A lot of light patterns are already available .
A GUI for creating and editing light patterns.
An arbitrary precision calculator.
Exercises are available to support the usage of this application in math education. Take a look at the sample solution.
A Scanner that makes images showing for example the reflection counts.
A Character Map that defines a mapping Between text characters to simple reflection shapes (light characters) which can be used to encrypt text as the whole reflection pattern very sensibly depends on the radius of the circles. The image shows a cite from Newtons Principia Mathematica: Every body preseveres in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line, except in so Far as it is compelled to change that state by impressed forces.
Animation which rotates the circles at different predefined speeds.
Detailed documentation.
