Media Badger

Media Badger is designed to be a fast and user friendly alternative to some of the more common Media Player software out there. It uses the same underlying DirectShow technology as Windows Media Player so with the right set of codecs, anything that will play in Windows Media Player should play in Media Badger. Current FeaturesDVD Playback Supports browsing large media libraries without bringing the user interface to a crawl. Smart Media scanning detects common naming mistakes and will merge artist names. For example, Guns and Roses, Guns & Roses, Guns N` Roses will all be listed as a single artist. Smart Media scanning will Detect duplicate tracks and only include them in the library once. This comes in handy if you want to add multiple people`s Music collections to the same instance of Media Badger. The LastFM plugin allows Media Badger to display artist descriptions and pictures as you listen to your music. LastFM also allows Media Badger to recommend similar artists that you might also enjoy. If you happen to have some of those artists in your collection, you can turn on the automatic playlist which will continually add similiar songs to the current playlist providing hours of diverse but complimentary music. The Amazon plugin allows Media Badger to download cover art for films as well as a Brief description of that film. The Wikipedia plugin allows Media Badger to download short descriptions of Television Episodes and provides a brief schedule for upcoming episodes for shows you have in your library. Media Badger makes watching Television Shows easy by remembering the last episode you watched and automatically showing you the next.
