Organizations often need to communicate with large numbers of users by email. Mailing list software, such as GNU Mailman, is most helpful when readers are expected to manage their own subscription and receive messages on a frequent basis. Recently, however, a nonprofit organization asked us for an efficient way to send a one-time mailing to several thousand members.
