Xero Make-a-Flake

Welcome to the wonderful world of Make-a-Flake, possibly the most pointless `filter` plugin ever written. Certainly the most pointless one that I`ve ever written. As regular visitors may have realised, I`m GeneRally more interested in photographic and artistic-type filters; the world is already full of pattern-generators and extreme warps, and I have no wish to increase the number unnecessarily. However... Sometimes, one just has to have a Little fun... I suppose you could use it for making seasonal Backgrounds, like the one on this PaGE. Or you can just sit and play with it for an hour or two. Note: A doctor friend has advised me that if you are able to sit and play with something like this for more than three minutes without getting bored, then you may well be terminally sad and should seek medical advice immediately. At the very least, you should try to get out more. Now, for those lacking a scientific background, the secret is to set the number of vertices to 6 and use suitably wintery colours for something approximating to a snowflake. Having said that... You can also change the colouration to something totally other, like this. Doesn`t look much like a snowflake, of course. Furthermore... ...you can set as many as 32 vertices, to get that `ethnic` look. The colouring can be foreground only, foreground/background radiaL gradient, foreground/background mixture, or completely, horribly random. I`m not going to try to explain the controls in detail - just have fun experimenting! One word of warning - there are problems with the scaling and random number handling which result in the preview pane usually being a little inaccurate. Alright, I`ll come clean; what you`ll get on the screen will usually look nothing like what you saw in the preview. Sorry, but that`s life. I`ll try to fix it some time.
