Words From The Past is a Bible software program and study tool that features an online, interactive quiz that tests your knowledge of the unique words found in the King James translation. The King James translation (Authorized Version) of The Bible is often praised for its place in literature, its majestic style, and its poetic rhythm, but unfortunately these Statements are often followed up by the charge that the language found upon its pages is archaic Elizabethan English that renders the Bible unintelligible and difficult. Does the King James contain archaic, obsolete words? See how well you do in recognizing the correct definition of each word as it is hidden among 3 bogus definitions. For example, can you find the true meaning of the word "neesing"?... Or how about these words? "avouch", "bruit", "collop", "concupiscence", "durst", "emerods", "greaves", "wist"...? Hmmm...no so easy, is it? Words From The Past allows you to view randomly selected words from the King James Version along with four possible Answers. You then select the answer you believe most closely describes the word in question and the program will tell you if you are right or incorrect. In addition to showing the correct answer, Words From The Past also displays a Bible Verse and the context where the word is used. This allows you to view the word in its actual context. Even if you feel you already understand most of these words, you`ll undoubtedly be surprised with just how much you really don`t know. Words From The Past also keeps track of each program session. Here it records the names of the people using the program, the dates you used the program, the number of your correct questions, the numbers of questions attempted, your percentage score, and the time you spend using the program. Your past performance can be sorted in a variety of different ways.
