Description - Removing Whiteheads

A whitehead is a collection of sebum and keratin that plugs the opening of the pilosebaceous unit (skin pore) and imbeds itself in the follicular canal under the skin so that it looks like a raised, white bump. It is also often called as a closed comedone. Like blackheads, these are caused by accumulation of hardened sebum or oils, in the pores of the skin. The difference is that in areas where the skin is fine and delicate, the clogged Grease is not exposed to air. Oxidization does not take place and does not darken the tips as on case of blackheads. The whiteheads appear in the form of tiny, pearly, white raised spots. They are common on the area just above the cheekbone, nose, or where the skin is fine. Removing Whiteheads : Exfoliate the whitehead-prone area 3-4 times a week using exfoliators or scrubs. Use creams containing AHAs (ALPHA Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells, and helps in unclogging the pores. Dealing with whiteheads: Never remove a whitehead forcibly; because in case of whiteheads the pore is not open. Forcibly removing a whitehead can damage the skin tissue and spread Infection. Drink lots of water and fresh juices. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. First thing in the morning - Have a glass of warm water with the juice of lemon. It helps in detoxifying the body.
