DocuMax

Thank you for evaluating or purchasing DocuMax. There are four panels to the program: Document Location, Source, Target and an enlarged image view. The basic idea is to navigate to the desired directory in the panel labeled "Document Location" on the Far left. Image files found in this directory appear as a thumbnail in the "Source" panel. Selected images are dragged with the mouse from the "Source" panel onto the "Target" panel and are used to make a single or multi-PaGE PDF or TIFF file. Thus the "Target" panel is a Scratch Pad used to compose a new image file, email or print out. An enlarged view of the currently selected image, whether it be "Source" or "Target", is displayed in the enlarged view on the right. The system can also be used a simple document manager. Images can be deleted from the "Target" panel by pressing the "Del" key. Pressing "Del" while on the "Source" panel will prompt the user if they want to delete the actual file. Two toolbars found above the enlarged image on the right allow for annotations and effects such as adding text, despeckle, deskew, adding colored rectangles etc. Clicking on the hand symbol, for example, puts you in a mode where the mouse wheel will zoom in and out of the enlarged picture and clicking on the picture while moving the mouse around will MOVE the picture around too (if the picture is large enough). Once images are prepared in the "Target" panel, select "Tools" from the main menu and select "Save Target to File". Decide whether the file should be saved as a Tiff or a PDF file and enter a file name. Press "Save" to save. Selecting "Email Target" from the "Tools" menu option sends an email with the images in the "Target" panel attached as a single PDF file. On the menu used to save files is an "Advanced" button which lets you change the image quality settings. These settings are also available from the main menu option "Preferences" under "File".
