CMS Scheduler

CMS Scheduler is typically used in an environment where certain computer tasks require to be completed on a regular basis. This may be file transfers from mainframes (requires suitable File Transfer software), running Batch files, copying files from one location to another on a network, even running other programs to reformat files or submit queries to mainframes. CMS Scheduler runs as a client and server. The server runs as a Windows Service and performs all scheduling and running of tasks. The client is a front-end which enables server tasks to be configured and run. Multiple clients are supported in a networked environment. CMS Scheduler uses the script interpreter engine used by all of the GPP Software CMS products. The script language enables Complex and powerful tasks to be performed. CMS Scheduler Application Features All new version which uses databases through ODBC (can be configured to use MS Access or SQL Server 6.5, 7.0, 2000) Tightly integrated with our CMS software, but can also be used as a separate product No limit on the number of tasks that can be configured Supports one-off tasks Supports recurrent tasks which can run repeatedly within a time-period during a day Supports recurrent tasks which can run repeatedly within a date-period ie tasks can be set to run for a period of days/time and then stop Supports running of tasks on specific days of the week Supports running tasks every specified number of hours Supports running tasks every specified number of minutes Supports running tasks every specified number of days Supports running a task once a day Full logging of server activity in server log Full logging of tasks - each task has its own log Tasks can read an output file and scan for unique text to identify error/success Ability to conditionally run other tasks depending on success/failure of a task Script language allows messages to be written to the logs
